Poultry farm proprietor refutes Assam orgs’ claim

Proprietor of A.S. Poultry Farm, Dimapur has refuted the claim of Karbi Anglong based organization that local poultry traders were supplying “unhygienic” products and monopolizing the trade in Dimapur.

In a rejoinder, A.S. Poultry Farm proprietor S.Vihuto Yeptho also denied that local poultry traders were restricting entry of poultry products from Karbi Anglong areas to Dimapur.

He said Dimapur traders were purchasing poultry products directly from the local farmers and firms located in Karbi Anglong smoothly based on mutual trust and sound business transactions.

Vihuto however said after the emergence of Bokajan Multipurpose Traders and Farmers Welfare Society (BMTFWS), some vested interests began regulating a tax provision above the normal local product rates and the traders were forced to purchase through them without any considerations.

He said that since the “self interest tax” deprived the marginal profit of the traders in Dimapur, they began procuring consignments from market outside Karbi Anglong.

Reiterating that Dimapur traders would not purchase any poultry products under the terms and conditions laid down by BMTFWS, Vihuto requested Bokajan civil administration to take action against the organization.

Further, he also “advised” one person from Eros Lane and two from New Market to desist from any “nefarious activities” that would damage the age-old “goodwill” between the two neighbouring states for selfish ends.
