State BJP unit organized a farewell programme to the outgoing north eastern states organizational secretary, P. Chandrashekar Rao at Hotel Saramati Dimapur on March 19.
Speaking on the occasion, Tapir Gao, national general secretary and BJP in-charge for Nagaland said Chandrashekar would be an ambassador for the NE states in Delhi.
Recalling past leaders like P.B. Acharya, V.Satish and P.Chandrashekar, Tapir Gao said that they were the messengers of BJP who spread the importance of nationalism and nature of discipline practices in the party organization.
Chandrashekar in his farewell speech said the people of NE regions were emotional, sentimental, friendly and aggressive in nature but loveable people, adding they have good command of English.
He said his visit to Eastern Nagaland regions like Mon, Tuensang, Kiphire and Longleng was the most informative and unique experience.
During the visit, while interacting with the Naga village leaders, Chandrashekar said he was impressed with the fighting spirit of the Nagas.
It may be mentioned that during his span of seven years stay in the NE as organizational secretary, under his initiative, central leaders like L.K. Advani, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkhari, Sushma Swaraj visited interior parts of north east region in order to understand the ground reality and issues faced by people of this region.
State president Dr. M. Chuba Ao, meanwhile, recalled that during the ‘Goodwill Mission’ to Bangalore, Karnatka chief minister assured the visiting team that a rest house would be constructed for the north east people staying at Bangalore, and appealed to the outing going organizational secretary to extend his help in fulfilling the task in the near future.
