Governor-designate of Nagaland, Ashwani Kumar arrived Kohima along with his wife Wednesday by helicopter from Dimapur and was received at the Assam Rifles helipad by Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio, cabinet colleagues, chief secretary Alemtemshi Jamir, senior government officials, DG Police B.Kezo and IGAR(N) Maj. Gen B.S. Das.
Ashawani former Director CBI and DGP Himachal Pradesh was also accorded the Guard of Honour by Nagaland Police after which he was escorted to Raj Bhavan Kohima by senior state government officials.
Ashwani Kumar will take oath of office on March 21 at 11 a.m. as the 17th governor of Nagaland at Raj Bhavan Darbar Hall. Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court, A.K Goel will administer the oath of office.
Jamir to be sworn-in today
Meanwhile, veteran Naga leader and former Governor of Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat and five-time chief minister of Nagaland Dr. S.C Jamir will take oath as the Governor of Odisha on March 21.
Dr. Jamir who arrived Odisha Tuesday evening was received by Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik and other senior government officials at the Biju Patnaik Airport in Bhubaneswar.
Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, Justice C. Nagappan will administer oath of office to Dr. S.C Jamir. (Spl. Correspondent)
