Another forest fire broke out at Medical ward, below District Hospital Kiphire around 1:20 p.m. on April 14. The fire was believed to be lit by some unknown persons.
Due to timely intervention of fire fighters, the fire was prevented from spreading any further. It may be mentioned that the first incident was reported on the second week of March near Petrol pump, Kohima road, Kiphire town.
The second incident was reported on April 12 where a major fire gutted 8 house, 1 granary and partially burned 1 house at Amahator village, 14 kms from Kiphire town and a forest fire on April 13, some 5 kms away from Kiphire town.
