State Janata Dal (United) unit represented by parliamentary secretary for land resources, B. S. Nganlang Phom and state JD (U) unit president Mhonjan Lotha has taken up the Naga issue and issues related to development with senior leaders at the two-day JD (U) national executive meeting and national council convention held at Constitutional Club Annexe, New Delhi from April 13 to 14.
According to state Janata Dal (United) unit publicity department, Mhonjan Lotha, while presenting his report during the executive meeting apprised the leaders of the Centre’s seriousness in finding a solution to the vexed Naga issue.
He also urged JD (U) to take up the matter besides pressing for comprehensive all round development of backward states under India’s Look East Policy.
JD (U) unit publicity department said a party coordination committee for Northeast region would soon be constituted to address core issues related to Northeastern states.
According to state JD (U), parliamentary secretary for land resources, B. S. Nganlang Phom was introduced to JD (U) national president Sharad Yadav.
On the first day of the national executive meeting, JD (U) secretary general KC Tyagi who was also a party MP introduced Nganlang and welcomed him in the party with applause.
JD (U) state unit said Bihar chief minister and JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar also expressed his happiness to JD (U) state unit for sending an elected representative from Nagaland.
