SBI construct ramps, place wheel chairs in ATM booths

State Bank of India (SBI) has endeared itself to differently abled persons by its noble initiative of constructing ramps and placing wheel chairs across some prominent ATM booths in Dimapur.

Dimapur Block Level Disabled People’s Organization (DBLDPO), Dimapur block in a release stated that the initiative rendered by SBI was significant and encouraging in the society.

“PWDs were pushed to the brink of invisibility by barriers, of the mind and infrastructures not inclined towards an enabling environment for PWDs”, stated the release.

DBLDPO has expressed its appreciation to SBI, Dimapur and said such inclusive gesture rendered by SBI has conveyed positive message to all to make accessibility and reasonable accommodation for every single person in the society a reality.

DBLDPO has further stated that it looked forward to a discrimination and barrier free soecity for every individual, regardless of one’s ability or disability.

It may be mentioned that DBLDPO is an informal organization composed of 15 disabled people’s organization representing 241 PWDs formed through the initiative of Prodigals’ Home under community based rehabilitation project.
