Grenade blast at TK Service

An unidentified miscreant lobbed a hand grenade inside the vehicle garage of M/s Progressive Motors at 2 ½ Mile on October 31 at around 9.20 and which, on explosion, damaged eight vehicles that included-Wagon R, Swift D’Zire, two Alto K 10, one Alto LX, two Omni Vans and a Gypsy.

Speaking to Nagaland Post, a source from the management of ‘Progressive Motors’ said that on October 31 night, on hearing the sound of a blast, two of the watchmen went to check out but did not find anything unusual and thought the blast could have been Diwali crackers bursting. 

However, he said it was only the next morning on November 1, that the watchmen noticed eight vehicles damaged by grenade splinters. The source also disclosed that the firing pin of the grenade was also recovered from the blast site.

CCTV footage also showed a man at the main gate seconds before the blast. Police said investigation was on and FIR was lodged at East P.S.

It may also be recalled that unidentified miscreants had also lobbed a crude explosive device inside the railway siding, located behind the Indian Oil Corporation depot on the night of October 29.
