CASU dismayed with education department

Chare Area Students Union (CASU) has expressed dismay and said that the school education department has been afflicted with innumerable problems including the issues raised by SSA teachers. In a press release,  CASU general secretary Yutsithri Jingba stated that in other parts of India, teachers were regarded as “nation builder”, but in Nagaland teachers were treated as “nation beggar”, where they were protesting for their daily bread.
For the past few years, the union said teachers were fighting for exemption from paying taxes to factions and today they were “crying for regular salaries”. In such situation, CASU said teachers were gradually “losing their interest” of teaching. Further, the union questioned who was responsible for preventing intellectual Nagas from becoming literate? and maintained that the responsible authorities were “educationally and economically killing the students and teachers respectively.”
