April 23, 2014 | by admin

Nagaland AYUSH Doctors’ Association (NADA) would begin its phase-I agitation from April 29 till May 1 to register resentment against the failure of the state government for not fulfilling their demands. The phase-I agitation would be staged at the directorate of health and family welfare office.
In a statement, NADA president Dr. Kaito Jakhalu and general secretary Dr. Shasinlo Magh said NADA had earlier submitted a series of representations to the state government with regard to various demands as per GPI directives vide: minister of health and family welfare government of India letter dated June 11, 2009 and secretary, government of India, ministry of health and family welfare department of AYUSH, dated January 1, 2009, February 6, 2009 & March 15, 2010. Despite its repeated representations, appeals and ultimatums, NADA said the state government remained silent. The indifferent attitude of the government has compelled the association to resort to democratic means to press for its demands, it said.
NADA has been demanding creation of the post for AYUSH doctors as per Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) in all the district hospitals, CHCs and PHCs besides creation of separate administrative set up, parity in pay scale with allopathic doctors.  NADA has sought public cooperation for the proposed agitation.
