Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) in an emergency meeting held Friday decided not to participate in the proposed rally organized by the Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) on May 13 at Clock Tower Dimapur from 9 a.m.
In a press release, TUD joint secretary L. Kamo said the meeting resolved that since TUD was not a not a member of NTC, the union would not be participating in the rally.
TUD said “the Government of Nagaland has constituted a review Committee on the Rongmei Tribe Recognition, for which, the reports are still awaited.”
NTC public rally was to apprise the public the impact of recognition of “Rongmei as one of Naga Tribe” in the state entitling them all the benefits of Indigenous ST.
