Chakheasng Hoho Kohima (CHK) has strongly condemned the “most barbaric and heinous crime” committed by Neingumelie (Amelie) Dzuvichu, son of late Rulhoulie of L. Khel; Ruokuovituo Sote, son of Methasenyu Sote of P. Khel and Mhalelhoulie Mepfu-o, son of late Razouvotuo of L. Khel, all from Kohima village.
In a press release, CHK president Zhonyi Rhi and vice president Vethikhoyi Khamo said the act was meted out to Pelo Letro and Neizeko Mekrisuh merely for failing to give way side immediately to the Bolero (NL-01H-0036), which was coming from behind towards Kohima, below paramedical colony, Dimapur-Kohima road August 14.
The hoho said the three accused identified themselves as southern Angami belonging to an underground functionary. CHK questioned the “intention of the perpetrators for brutally assaulting the victims after identifying the victims that they were from Chakhesang community.”
According to the Chakhesang Hoho Kohima, even after assaulting them below paramedical colony, Pelo Letro was dragged to their Bolero, his hands were tied and eyes blind folded and continued to stab him in a moving vehicle and reached the road which links Nagaland Civil Secretariat road and Merema High Court Road Junction.
The victim was again taken to a place below the road and subsequently assaulted him till he was unconscious, said the hoho. “However, by the grace of God, the victim had survived as the assailant left him thinking that the victim was already dead,” CHK stated.
While appreciating the prompt action of the police forces, Chakhesang community and right thinking citizens in rescuing Pelo and nabbing the culprits, the Hoho appealed to all responsible to condemn and fight against such abominable action of senseless criminals, which posed threat to the peaceful co-existence of the society.
CHK also appealed to the responsible authority to arrest the absconding culprit at the earliest. Further, the Hoho requested the authority “not to grant bail to the criminals rather awards the severest punishment to the culprits as per the provision of the law.”
CWOK: Chizami Welfare Organization Kohima (CWOK) has also vehemently condemned the physical assault memted out to Neizeko Mekrisuh and alleged attempted murder on Pele Lekro on August 14 night at Kohima by Neingumelie Dzuvichu, Ruokuovituo Sote, Mhalelhoulie Mepfuo of Kohima village.
