In order to strengthen the relations and peace with Sivasagar and Jorhat Districts Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS visited all the Bordering Naga Villages September 9 and 10.
Sushil Kumar Patel took over the charge of DC Mokokchung September 2.
According to a DIPR report, DC in his maiden visit to the bordering vllages emphasized on maintaining peace and tranquility among the immediate neighbours for peaceful coexistence. He also urged the villagers to extend necessary cooperation to the Administration for meaningful resolution of conflicts. He assured his full cooperation and support to the villagers in all fronts.
After visiting all the villages bordering with Sivasagar District, he paid courtesy call to Meenakshi Sundarum, Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar and discussed issues relating to border of which some were of urgent nature. The following day he visited all the Naga Villages bordering with Jorhat District after which he called on Vishal Solanki, the Deputy Commissioner, Jorhat. In this discussion, he raised issues related to sales tax, problems faced by the business community of Nagaland especially Mokokchung, developmental activities in the bordering villages etc. It was resolved to streamline the procurement procedure of essential commodities to avoid problems faced by the business community of Nagaland and take all necessary measures to maintain peace and tranquility between the States.
During this maiden visit, DC Mokokchung also distributed one Megaphone each to all the Villages for use during emergency situations like disaster, law and order situation etc. He was accompanied by Sentiwapang ADC Tuli, Limawapang ADC Mangkolemba, Rajesh Soundararajan SDO (C) Mokokchung, Nyempo Wallim BM Tsurangkong, and Er. Temsuwati Ao Coordinator BPCC (N-A).
