Phek town citizens hold consultative meeting

First consultative meeting of Phek Town citizens was held September 27 at GBs’ conference hall, Phek Town organized by Phek area Public organization.
At the meeting, the house deliberated on recent recurrence of factional killings and kidnapping and other issues confronting the general public in the district headquarters Phek Town in particular.
The meeting resolved to direct all cadres not to move about the town in uniform and with arms.
Any faction violating the resolution, citizens of Phek Town cautioned to take stern action against the defaulting group.
It also resolved any individual or group indulging in anti-social activities like selling of intoxicated substances, drug peddling and immoral activities would be condemned or expelled or would face public court.
Further, the consultative meeting resolved to uphold CPO’s commitment of non-violence and reconciliation of the Naga political groups, to revoke its declaration of non-cooperation imposed on NNC/FGN (non-Accordist) in protest against the brutal killing of Late. Chivoveyi on June 3, 2014 at Phek town by a group of some self-style cadres of NNC/FGN (Non-Accordist) as those cadres involved in the killing were handed over to the administration and booked as per public demands.
The meeting appealed to the directorate of higher and technical education on acute shortage of teaching staffs both government College Phek and GHSS Phek due to random transfer of teachers without replacement during the ongoing academic.
Meanwhile, the house also expressed gratitude to minister road and bridges and parliamentary affairs KuzholüzoNienu for taking up various development activities particularly construction of roads in and around the district headquarters.
The meeting was attended by various bodies (NGOs) and representatives including Phek area GBs association, Phek area Mothers’ association, Phek area wrestling association, Phek town Chakhesang Students’ union, Phek chamber of commerce and industries, Phek town public welfare committee, Phek town youth society, ACAUT Phek unit, Phek town and all colony Chairman and GBs.
