ENSF derides assault on the Headmaster

The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF), in its emergency meeting convened against the life threatening assault upon the Head master of a school in Kiphire town on October 10, unanimously resolved and termed the action of Major Shikato of GPRN/NSCN as uncivilized and barbaric.
ENSF press release said any individual who threatened, assault or attempt to shoot any fellow being is not only committing a sin against God but a heinous crime against humanity which disturbs the peaceful coexistence of a mankind in a civilised society. It said such action not only brings shame to a Naga society but it also defames its organisation’s political goals and objectives on sovereignty.
The Federation also asked the GPRN/NSCN on what sort of individual it is accommodating in its fight for sovereignty, adding that the struggle for sovereignty is at stake if such element are continued to be sheltered in its fold.
Stating that such act of cowardice was totally unwelcoming when the Federation along with all its Federating units (Konyak Students’ Union, Confederation of Chang Students’ Union, Yimchungru Akheru Arihako, Phom Students’ Conference, Khiamniungan Students’ Union and United Sangtam Students’ Conference) are working tirelessly to uplift the educational system within its jurisdiction. It said such act create hindrances to the advancement of education system in the region which cannot be tolerated at any cause.
The Federation, while upholding the ENPO resolution in declaring the Eastern Nagaland as peace zone, directed and empowered the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) to initiate a stern and befitting action against Major Sikato as per the act he had committed. The Federation also appealed to all the tribal organisation under Kiphire district to cooperate with the USSC in its fight for justice and truth.
The Federation further warns that it would not tolerate any such action by any individual/group within its jurisdiction in future.
