Legal awareness campaign in Tsg

Legal awareness campaign was conducted at Sao Chang college, Tuensang from July 9-11 by final year students of Kohima Law College led by team leader Kezhokhoto Savi.  
The awareness campaign highlighted various topics including impact of RTI in Nagaland and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Savi while addressing the audience said that a “powerful and effective Lokayukta” was essential as “corruption has been deeply rooted in the society” including the administration, political and judicial system. He said that corruption was also in “the manner of nepotism” with illegal backdoor appointments where the government had taken no action so far. 
Savi also said that “huge amount of UGC grant” was being received for various projects which are deducted “in the name of party fund”.
He said that young college students would soon qualify to participate in fair competitive examinations, for which it was imperative to save the society and the young from the menace of corruption. Savi stressed the urgent need to introduce Lokayukta in Nagaland as “corruption in public life is a gross violation of human life”. 
Savi also said that RTI in the departments would bring in transparency and accountability among the colleagues as well. Consumer awareness as citizen rights were also covered and for further information one could dial toll free No.1800-345-3701. The program was chaired by the principal of the college and attended by all the students of both Arts & Science streams and teaching faculty in the newly constructed indoor stadium.
