New administration block of Phek Government College was inaugurated by parliamentary secretary for higher education and SCERT, Deo Nukhu as chief guest on October 13.
Speaking at programme, Nukhu encouraged the students to devote their time in study, to be regular and attentive in the classrooms and to make use of the library in their free time.
He also stressed on the importance of vocational training and education since the prospect of getting government jobs has become more difficult.
Deo Nukhu also pointed out the need to inculcate physical fitness in order to be successful for police and military recruitment exams. He also assured the college a good auditorium and hostels for both boys and girls.
Earlier, PGC principal, Dr. Katoni Jakhalu delivered the welcome address, while deputy commissioner Phek, Murohu Chotso thanked the public leaders of Phek town under whose initiatives the PGC was founded.
Apart from the administration block, the three storied building houses the arts stream classrooms both general and honours. The spacious building also has a well stocked library, a computer lab and audio visual room and a well provisioned and hygienic cafeteria.
