With the failure of concerned department towards maintenance of the six hundred meter approach road to the Community Health Centre (CHC) from Mangkolemba-Longnak main road, the Health Centre Management Committee (HCMC) in coordination with additional deputy commissioner Mangkolemba, Imtiwapang Aier (NCS) took up the initiative of convening a meeting of all the prominent organisations in the town.
A joint press release by CCHRR chairman, Imjong Longkumer and secretary Imsuchang stated that the meeting was attended by Mangkolemba ad-hoc town committee, Mangkolemba Baptist Church, GBs, Mangkolemba Ao Youth Organisation, all ward committees, Watsu union and the coal miners’ union.
It said during the meeting, the members present resolved to take up task of clearing clogged side drains, construction of new drainage, soiling and metalling and laying of asphalt on the road to CHC.
The meeting also resolved to set up a coordination committee for hospital road repairing (CCHRR) under the aegis of the ADC, with representations from all major organisations, stated the release.
The release stated that the estimated budget of the project is Rs. 13 lakh and necessary fund generation has so far been through public contributions and donations.
The work started off on October 15 with a short prayer programme led by pastor of Mangkolemba Baptist Church, while the ADC thanked all the citizens of Mangkolemba for their zealous participation in maintenance of the roads and other public works, stated the release.
CCHRR further urged upon every citizen and organizations/unions to take part in this monumental endeavour by way of monetary, man power and material assistance for the benefit of all, especially the health patients.
