
Three-day 65th annual general conference of Kyong Baptist Ekhümkho Sanrhyutsü (KBES) women unit commenced here Friday at Lotha Baptist Church, Diphupar, Dimapur under the theme “The cross in women ministry” (Luke 23:27).
Exhorting the programme, directorate of agriculture, deputy director N. Jacob Yanthan spoke on the “good qualities” of a woman citing patience, tolerance and confidene as some of the values a woman should possess.
Stating that “no instrument can measure the qualities of a woman”, Yanthan said that women have a bigger role to play in the society as well as in the family. He encouraged them to understand their responsibility by learning the will of God and accept His blessing with a true heart.
Meanwhile, keynote address was delivered by Lotha Baptist Church, Kohima women leader Nyanchumi Kithan, KBES information secretary Reverend MC Kithan opened the programme with a prayer.
Other highlights of the programme include Bible recitation which was delivered by Chandalashung (B) Baptist Church women leader Orenponi Kikon and theme song by KBES women unit.
Representative from 105 Lotha churches from across the State attended the programme. The programme will culminate on October 25.
