67th Republic Day celebrated across Nagaland

Along with the country, the 67th Republic Day was celebrated in all districts and sub-divisional headquarters of Nagaland on Tuesday. 
The day witnessed parade by police, paramilitary forces, ex-servicemen, NCC and students. 
Various stalls displaying various agriculture produces, crafts etc were set also up by different departments during the celebration. Assam Rifles also displayed weapons in one of the stall in Dimapur. 
Kiphire: In Kiphire, the national flag was unfurled by minster for power, C. Kipili Sangtam at public ground, Kiphire. He read out the speech, and extended greeting to the gathering. Seven march past contingent took part at the parade. 
Two dancing troupes- Singrep Yangdong Thsingmüjang (Male) and Longthonger Village Women presented cultural dance. Stalls were set up by medical department, Agape School, LRD and agri department Kiphire. Lilongla Sangtam presented special song. 
Medziphema: Advisor, Urban Development, S. I. Jamir unfurled the tricolour at at local ground, Medziphema sub-division. Upon his arrival, the advisor also took the salute along with the singing of the National anthem. Jamir also inspected the parade contingents and delivered and delivered his speech. Eight contingents took part in the march past. 10th IR NAP, GHSS (Boys) Medziphema, GHSS (Girls) Medziphema,  SFS (NCC) Medziphema, SFS (Boys) Medziphema, Rivenburg School Medziphema, King David School Medziphema and  Modern School Medziphema took part in the march past. To commemorate the day, an exhibition volleyball match was also played between Ward IX, Medziphema Town and Ward IV, Medziphema Town.  
Pungro: Pungro sub-division also celebrated the day with ADC, Pungro, Wennyei Konyak, as chief guest. Highlights of the day included folksongs and dance, taekwondo demonstration, modern dance, fancy dress and ward wise tug-of-war competition. 
LONGLENG: Along with the rest of the country, Republic Day was also celebrated at local ground, Longeng.  Minister for national highways, mechanical and election, Nuklutoshi  Ao unfurled the national flag. Before delivering the speech, the chief guest also inspected the parade contingents.
The parade contingents included- DEF Longleng, Village guards, Phom Lempong School, Government higher Secondary School, St. Joseph high School, and Good Shephered High School, Mount Carmel High School, Christian High School, Yingli College, Christ King School and Government High School Nyenching. The Parade was commanded by Lanutemsu  Ao Company commander 2nd.NAP Longleng.  Celebration was attended by government officials, NGO’s, public leaders and general public of the district. 
MOKOKCHUNG: Republic Day celebration at Mokokchung passed peacefully. Minister for forests, environment & wildlife, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire graced the celebration and unfurled the national flag. The chief guest after the inspection of parade delivered the speech followed by the march past. A total of six contingents took part in the march past where the parade contingent was lead by parade commander Rukulu Tunyi, Asst. Commandant 2nd NAP Alichen. Highlights of the day included presentation of cultural items from Chuchuyimpang, Mokokchung, Khensa and Ungma villages.
MON: In Mon, the celebration was graced by advisor DUDA, LMCP and chairman DPDB Mon, Tongwang. 
Upon his arrival, the chief guest took salute from seven continents- DEF, 6th NAP, VG, ex servicemen, NCC, Bharat Guides and 6th NAP Pipe Band.
The chief guest also gave away the prizes to the winner of the State level Essay Competition on ‘Fundamental Rights and Duties of the Citizens’ held on November 2015, organised by Nagaland state Legal Services Authority.  Manom K Konyak bagged the state best award.
NIULAND: Joining the rest of the country Niuland sub division also celebrated the 67th Republic day with parliamentary secretary, Pukhayi Sema as chief guest. The chief guest unfurled the tricolour national flag and took salute from the participating contingents. After reading out the Republic Day speech the chief guest also inaugurated the exhibition stalls. Niuland subdivision ADC along with the administrative officials and public attended the celebration.    
KVK Phek: KVK Phek also celebrated Republic Day at its office premises where staffs of KVK Phek and NRC on Mithun participated in the programme. At NRC on Mithun, Porba station, station in-charge, Dr.Prakash R.Dutta, unfurled the National flag while at KVK Phek, Porba, ACTO soil SC and PC incharge, T Esther Longkumer unfurled the national flag.
PFUTSERO: Parliamentary secretary for Higher & Technical Education, Nagaland, Deo Nukhu unfurled the tri-colour and took the Rashtriya salute on the occasion Republic Day at Pfutsero sub-division, under Phek district.Four parade contingents took part in the march past- DEF, Pfutsero, Pfutsero Government Collage, TMT Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero and Chakhesang Mission Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero.
TENING:  In Tening ADC Hq, the celebration was graced by parliamentary secretary, Geology and Mining, Dr. Imtiwapang Aier. The program started with hosting of tri-colour flag and salute followed by the national anthem and speech. An exhibition football match was also played between government employees and adhoc town council XI.
TAMLU: Parliamentary secretary, land resources and natural calamities and excise, B. S. Nganlang unfurled the national flag at Tamlu, followed anthem led by Tamlu Town Students’ Union and guard of honour by the 2nd NAP platoon post. 
TOBU: In Tobu, parliamentary Secretary for Irrigation & Flood Control, Jacob Zhimomi unfurled the national flag and read out the Republic Day.
