SCID awareness cum seminar held at SJCJ

Spinal Cord Injury Day (SCID) awareness cum seminar on Disability Rights was organized by Disability Committee of KROS College at St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama on September 5, with Diethono Nakhro as the speaker. 
Addressing the Josephite family, Nakhro said, “a spinal cord injury leads to multiple disabilities at one stroke” and there is no cure for spinal cord injury anywhere in the world.
She said that those persons with spinal cord injury who get timely rehabilitation and support live healthy, successful and productive lives. 
While giving the introduction of Disability Committee of KROS College, Keliihol Tase said the disability committee was formed on November 3, 2015 with objectives to promote understanding of the importance of equality and diversity, encouraging good practice, promoting equality of opportunity, promoting awareness and understanding of rights, enforcing equality law, working towards the elimination of unlawful discrimination and harassment, promoting understanding of good relations.
Tase informed that KROS College is set to be a disable friendly campus.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Azeto I. Achumi, invocation by vice principal St Joseph’s College, Sr. Dr. Kaisa Rosalind, Ph.D.  HoD commerce, SJC, Thejanuo Fidelia gave the welcome address, Moipen Phom, Kevisenuo Kintso and Sezo presented special song and vote of thanks was delivered by assistant professor (English) KROS College, Limakumla Imsong.
