Kohima police has arrested one person identified as Limhathung (20 yrs) s/o Pilamo Ezung from Tsungiki village, Wokha, presently residing at Kitsubozou colony, Kohima, on charges of attempted murder and molestation on October 6.
According to SDPO (South) & PRO, Kohima Police Atu Zumvü NPS, the accused reportedly dragged the girl to an isolated place while she was returning back home and tried to strangulate her. However, upon hearing the screams of the victim, the public from the neighbourhood came to her rescue, it stated. In this connection, Police informed that the accused has been taken into police custody and a case registered against him for conducting further investigation.
