All Nagaland Government Primary Teachers Associations (ANGPTA) Wokha unit has requested the competent authority of school education to release the pending salaries of SSA Teachers.
In a press release, ANGPTA Wokha unit president Y. Zubemo Ezung has termed that the class boycotting by the SSA teachers has hampered the smooth functioning of the school which has directly affected the student academic career in every aspect. He further stated that the teachers cannot perform their assigned duty without being paid for so many months.
Association also requested to the competent authority to look into the matters without further delay.
ANGPTA Mokokchung: All Nagaland Government Primary Teachers Association(ANGPTA) Mokokchung district has appealed the department concerned to look into the ongoing agitation of teachers. In a letter to director of School Education, ANGPTA Mokokchung unit president, Samuel has pointed out the ongoing agitation in the form of boycotting classes by the NSSATA and ANAHTA for nearly two weeks due to non-payment of salaries is also affecting the welfare of the students.
It stated that this was a crucial time in the academic calendar when the student community had reached a point to give their best and appear their final examinations. The teachers and students are all trying to cover the syllabus and prepare for the term end examinations but everything has come to a halt, stated the release.
It pointed out that teachers were working under different conditions, some of them even posted in the remotest region making it difficult to manage their daily needs. In this regard, ANGPTA Mokokchung district appealed the department to bring a permanent solution so that teachers could resume with their work for the greater interest of the students. SMC: School Management Committee (SMC) of Pongidong village has appealed the concerned authority for early salary release of SSA teachers recruited in the year 2010 and 2013. An appeal note from SMC Pongidong chairman, Elvis Humtsoe stated that SMC under the establishment of SDEO Wokha has called on the state government to address and expedite action in payment of teachers’ salaries regularly. It stated that teachers deserved commendation for being steadfast despite the myriad of challenges facing them. SMC while urging the government to address the wellbeing of teachers has also decried the impact of the ongoing agitation on the students’ academic career.
