In view of the 14th session of the 12th NLA session from November 22-24, Kohima police has put in place new traffic regulation as part of the security arrangement. In a press release, Sr. SP Kohima said only vehicles with appropriate car passes would be allowed entry to the Assembly Secretariat.
Police said ‘no parking’ of vehicles by the roadside from 6 a.m. onwards during Assembly sessions from BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island; from Raj Bhavan till M.S Classic Island and from Classic Island till Assembly Secretariat via Razhü Point.
Heavy vehicles would not be allowed to ply from High School junction to Assembly Secretariat via Sanuoru subway during Assembly Sessions, except Govt. departmental buses.
No entry for heavy vehicles in town during Assembly sessions, from 7 a.m. till the session is over. Police have also directed that all loading/unloading of goods in town should be completed by 7am during Assembly sessions. No parking of heavy vehicles along “D” Block road. Police have warned that defaulting vehicles would be towed away and the charges borne by the vehicle owners.
