Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) USA held a special career counselling programme for students of classes VIII to XII at Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School Dimapur on November 28.
The resource persons on the occasion were associate director of Recruitment, SCAD, Hong Kong, Pelesino Ane Kevichusa and former director of International Admissions, Maken Payne. The programme began with a brief introduction from chairman cum principal of LFHSS, Andrew Ahoto. During the counselling for classes XI and XII students, Ane discussed about the career opportunities in various fields of Designing and Art at SCAD. She also dwelt on a number of scholarship opportunities at SCAD where there was no particular cut-off percentage/mark for admission but emphasis was given on the creative skills as well as the ambition of the aspirants.
Pelesino briefed about the summer camps which were held every year to expose the world of opportunities at SCAD to junior students to instill interest in their minds on designing and related career opportunities while having a joyful experience.
SCAD is based at Savannah, USA but has its campuses in Hong Kong, Lacoste in France, Atlanta in USA and Georgia in USA apart from its main campus in Savannah, USA. Some of the degree courses offered are fashion designing and management, game and software developing and designing, interior designing, photography, film production, animation technology, performing arts, etc. The college also provides internship opportunities in global companies like Google, Coca Cola, Disney, Pixar, Adobe and Adidas etc.

SCAD Visit
The visiting members from Savannah College of Art and Design(SCAD) Georgia, U.S.A is holding an event in Maple Tree school, Kashiram, Dimapur on 3rd December 2016, to formally introduce the college to students and parents in Nagaland.
Maken Imcha Payne, Executive Director of International Recruitment and Relations, SCAD and Pelesino Ane Kevichusa, Associate Director of International Admissions, SCAD will be visiting to meet parents and students to who are interested in pursuing art and design in SCAD. Maken Imcha Payne sees the potential Nagas posses in creative and design field because of their natural artistic talent and she feels that SCAD will give them the opportunity to jumpstart their design career with an international standard.
