Based on specific intelligence, 41 Assam Rifles conducted an operation in Ward 9 Medziphema Town and apprehended two persons along with one Pt 22 mm Pistol and 339 bottles of IMFL.
According to PRO IGAR (N) the apprehended individuals were identified as Vizoto Angami, (40) son of Joseph Angami and Supi Chaya Angami (35) son of Puto Chaya Angami, both resident of Ward 9 Medziphema Town. PRO stated that Vizoto Angami is an NSCN (I-M) cadre holding the rank of ‘leacy.’
The apprehended individuals along with the recovered arm and items were handed over to Medziphema Police Station for further investigation, PRO added.
