Kiphire holds DTF meeting

Kiphire held its District Task Force (DTF) on January 27, at DC Office Kiphire to ensure successful implementation of Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI), National De-worming Day (NDD) and Mission Indradhanush (MI) Phase-4 in Kiphire district.
The meeting was chaired by DC Sedevikho Khro and attended by CMO Dr. Tsenthungo Patton, DPO, RCH-UIP, Dr. Rebecca Y Sema, VCCM, Herole Y, UNDP PO-IT Sumit Sharma, UNDP PO-CM/ME Ylutiule, SIS L. Kipitong, SS NST L. Meshu and CDPO Z. Tsangkhuchu. Dr. Rebecca gave an overview on IPPI, NDD and MI to sensitize the attendees on the objectives and various activities chalked out for the programmes. During the meeting it was informed that, the target of IPPI would be to administer two drops of life-saving oral polio vaccine to children from 0-5 years in the district. 
1st round will be conducted from January 29-31; the first day focussing on administering the drops through booth activities and the other two days on house to house visits by the medical team. NDD would be conducted on February 10, during which the schools and anganwadi workers would play a major role in distributing Albendazole tablets to children of 1-19 years. Mission Indradhanush (MI) Phase-4 would also be launched on February 7 to strengthen routine immunization.This immunization drive would be carried out for seven consecutive days in a month for four successive months – February to May. 
The first round which would be conducted from February 7-13 would cover 19 session sites district which are hard to reach, places where there are no health centres and areas where migratory population is present. The target beneficiaries are 0-2 years, 5 years and pregnant mothers.   Dr. Rebecca also briefly spoke on Effective Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN) which had been introduced recently into the healthcare management system.
