Subsidized LED bulbs distributed to villagers

Nagaland State Department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change took up the initiative of providing subsidized eco friendly LED bulbs to Chingphoi, Changlang, Chingdang, Wanching, Wakching, Wakching Chingla, Namthai, Shiyong, Hotahoti, Kongan and Naginimora residents under the Naginimora Forest Range, Mon Forest Division.
During the distribution program held at Naginimora Range Office premises, Range Officer Naginimora, ACF Lepzuk Jamir explained in brief the benefits of these bulbs to the residents.
He said that these bulbs are being provided at a distribution cost of Rs 65 each (against a market price of Rs 350) and that the residents and consumers would benefit immensely by these LED bulbs as part of the latest trend in “green” technology.
ACF Mon Division, Suman Sivachar acknowledged the support of Aochuba, DFO Mon Division, Reny Wilfred, AC Kohima administration and the EESL team. Naginimora Forest Department staff expects the distribution to span over the next few days.
The Energy Efficient Nagaland program under the UnnatJyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) scheme was earlier launched by minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire in October 2016.
