Government of India and the GPRN/NSCN have “mutually agreed” to extend the Cease-Fire agreement with effect from April 28, 2017 for a period of one year. In a press release, GPRN/NSCN MIP stated that agreement was signed on April 17, 2017 in New Delhi by Jack Jimomi, supervisor CFSB/NSCN, on behalf of the NSCN and Satyendra Garg, joint secretary (NE) to the government of India (MHA), in the presence of Rina Mitra, special secretary (IS) government of India.
According to MIP, besides the extension of ceasefire, the group had raised “strong protest against the frequent killing” of its fellow members, despite of mutually agreed CFGRs effectively on the ground.
