In an effort to promote clean and healthy environment, many colonies in Dimapur under the initiative of the respective council have launched garbage disposal mini trucks.
In line with this, Diphupar Village Council (DVC) has also introduced a “mini dumper truck”, where it would be deployed to collect the waste materials.
The truck was flagged off by parliamentary secretary Irrigation and Flood Control Jacob Zhimomi on Friday outside DVC building. He congratulated the chairman and the council members for taking initiative in introducing the dumper on their own expense.
Earlier, the dedication prayer was said by Tangkhul Baptist Church Dimapur, pastor Rev. Candid Sareo.
The flag off ceremony was chaired by member sanitation committee Ghuzui Shohe while introductory speech was delivered by chairman DVC Lanu Toshi.
He said that the cost of the mini dumper was Rs.10,81,000, where 4,48,000 was through public contribution and the remaining from DVC office fund.
