One-day teachers’ orientation programme for government teachers of Longleng district was sponsored and organized by Phom Lungvang Pangthai (Phom Gazetted Officers Association) from May 3 to 4 at Longleng and Tamlu respectively.
A press note by PLPpresident, Nyenghong Phom stated that more than 250 government teachers along with Village Education Committee chairman/members attended the orientation programme.
PLP stated that the programme was organized with the objective to help teachers re-invent and upgrade their teaching skills and take up teaching with all sincerity and dedication.
The resource persons of the programme, Dr Henshet vice principal Yingli College, Chingdam, ToT and Henow Phom, principal GHSS Longleng spoke on different topics.
They stressed on the importance of imparting quality education since prosperity of the society depends upon it.
The resource persons stated that quality education can only be imparted when teachers were equipped with professional, pedagogical and practical skills and perform for the benefit of the learners, the community and the society.
The participating teachers firmly took a moral pledge wherein they declared themselves to discharge their duties with more sincerity, zeal and vigor.
Further, the teachers, VEC, students and community pledged that, they would strive to bring educational revolution in the district.
Meanwhile, PLP has extended gratitude to the resource persons, the part takers of the program, the teachers and the VECs, volunteers for making the orientation program a grand success.
