Kohima Police personnel manning Khuzama inter-State police check gate while conducting routine checking on May 11 intercepted one passenger vehicle – AS23P-7903 and recovered 20 liters of liquid contraband opium from the possession of a passenger identified as Bhim Bahadur Chetri (34) son of Kritiman Chetry, Udaipur village, Tinsukia.
According to SDPO (South) and PRO Atu Zumvü the contraband was found concealed inside a bag neatly wrapped in 14 packets of 1 litre and 12 packets of 500 ml.
In this connection a regular case under NDPS Act was registered against the individual for conducting further investigation, PRO added.
