Based on specific information regarding presence of an IED expert linked to UGs, troops of 41 Assam Rifles along with police representative launched an operation in general area New Land near Police Colony, Dimapur on May 10.
According to PRO IGAR (N) during the search, Kevi Kiba (48) resident of New Land was apprehended and recovered 65 grams Neogel 90 explosive, 6 GPRN Tax Collection Slips, 2 walkie talkie and 15 grams contraband Heroin from his possession.
PRO informed that on interrogation the individual revealed his involvement in fabrication and supply of IEDs to various UGs and drug peddling respectively.
The individual along with the recovered items were handed over to East Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation, PRO added.
