Various political parties, civil society organisations and individuals have mourned the demise of former NLA Speaker, ex-minister and current MLA of 8-Western Angami A/C, Kiyanilie Peseyie, who passed away on September 27 at Zion Hospital Dimapur after a brief illness.
LFA Nagaland: In a condolence message, Legislators’ Forum on AIDS Nagaland (LFAIDS) said it has lost a true humane personality. It stated that late Kiyanilie was a founding member of LFA and had taken keen interest in establishing LFA office in the assembly secretariat during his tenure as the speaker of the 10th Nagaland State Legislative Assembly 2003 to 2008. It was through the efforts of late Kiyanilie that UNAIDS recognised LFA Nagaland as the champion of UNAIDS initiative for HIV & AIDS advocacy among the states of India, stated LFA. LFAIDS stated that late Kiyanilie’s commitment to understanding challenges of HIV in the state was beyond description. It said late Kiyanilie also had true spiritual implications of the disease and exercised clear conscience in dealing with the suffering of needy persons. Further, LFA has conveyed deepest condolences to Mrs. Kiyanilie and children.
NH: Naga Hoho (NH) in a condolence note described late Kiyanilie as a down to earth and God fearing man who remained steadfast to his convictions. NH stated that late Kiyanilie exhibited honesty, truthfulness throughout his career as a government servant and as politician remained committed to responsibilities and unwavering in his political principles. NH stated that his demise has brought irreparable loss not only to the Angami community and the 8th Western Angami assembly constituency but for the entire Naga people. Naga Hoho has extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty grant peace to the departed soul rest.
NGBF: Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) has mourned the demise of late Kiyanilie Peseyie. In a condolence message, the federation said late Kiyanilie was the front runner towards the Naga peace process and under his leadership as a convener Joint Legislatures Forum (JLF) has started to strive to expedite the Naga peace process for an early solution. NGBF further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
TPO: Tenyimi Peoples’ Organisation (TPO) has mourned the passing away of late Kiyanilie whose unassuming but well-meaning disposition was like a rock to the Tenyimi community. It said his death has created a void which can never be filled. Further, TPO has prayed to the Almighty to grant solace and strength to the bereaved family, kith and kin and his supporters to overcome this great loss and sorrow and for the departed soul to rest in peace.
TUD: Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) has expressed shock at the sudden demise of late Kiyanilie Peseyie. TUD stated that the passing away of an honest and trustworthy leader has created a huge void in our midst. It has prayed to God to grant solace and strength to the bereaved family at this hour and for the departed soul to rest in peace.
NPF Kiphire divisional unit: NPF Kiphire divisional unit said the sudden demise of late Kiyanilie Peseyie was a great loss not only to party but Naga as whole. It said his contribution towards to the growth of Nagaland state would be remembered by the generations and added that is death has left a great vacuum upon the party too. The unit has also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.
NPF 45 Tehok A/C: NPF 45 Tehok A/C in a condolence note described late Kiyanilie Peseyie as an energetic and selfless worker who had always prioritized welfare of the party. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and that the departed soul rest in peace.
NPF 47 Aboi A/C: NPF 47 Aboi A/C in a condolence note described late Kiyanilie as a dynamic, dedicated leader who had worked tirelessly for the state. NPF 47 Aboi A/C has expressed deep pain over the loss of one great leader and prayed that Almighty God grant strength to the bereaved family and peace to the departed soul.
JD U Nagaland state: Janata Dal United Nagaland state unit in a condolence described late Kiyanilie Peseyie as a humble and dedicated politician and added that his demise has created a huge vacuum and was an immense loss to the Nagas. JDU Nagaland state unit also conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed to Almighty God for the departed soul to rest in peace.
KUK: Konyak Union Kohima (KUK) in a condolence message described late Kiyanilie Peseyie as a man of high integrity, principle and God fearing who had dedicated the best of his service to the people of the state. KUK said Nagas had lost a tall leader and the void created in his demise would be sorely felt. KUK has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
TUK: Tangkhul Union Kohima (TUK) in a condolence note described late Kiyanilie Peseyie as one of the most sincere legislators, whose good deeds and services rendered to the people would be cherished and remembered by people of the state. While stating that Nagas have an elderly great man of the soil, TUK has conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
