Kuda Village Council condemns Mar 16 murder

Kuda Village Council (KVC) has expressed shock and condemned the heinous murder of one Kevinguto Khate of Kuda Village (C-Khel), on March 16.

In a statement, KVC chairman Achubu Meruno urged the police and district administration authorities to leave no stone unturned in hunting down the culprits/masterminds and to establish the motive of eliminating such a promising Naga youth, an apparent larger conspiracy, and also to bring the culprits to justice at the earliest possible.
KVC said late Kevinguto Khate (31 yrs), son of late Rokozhasie and Hokhuli Khate, was found murdered in his car on March 16 evening, alongside the Kuda Road-Phaipijang Junction, adjacent to the 66 KV power Sub-Station at Kuda Village. Late Khate was an accomplished structural engineer with an M. Tech degree from MIT Manipal, serving as assistant professor at NIT Nagaland, Chümoukedima since 2013 till his death, KVC stated.
As the family suspected foul play, KVC said along with Kuda Youth Club leaders, they examined the CCTV footage at relevant locations. It claimed that the footage showed involvement four persons– two ladies and two men, who had driven the victim’s car and parked at the abovementioned area (12.10 noon) with the body and escaped in an autorickshaw.
Kuda Village Council said the Kuda village and the state has lost a talented citizen and an engineering technologist, whose death will be irreplaceable.
Kuda Village Council prayed to the Almighty God to grant comfort to the bereaved family and for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
