
In regard to the August 19 incident at Kohima, wherein a member of the Angami Youth Organization (AYO) Pelevilie Kuotsu was physically assaulted by the region commander, Angami region, Pitovi, the AYO and representatives from the GPRN/NSCN (Unification) headed by the chairman Angami region and the deputy kilonser home amongst others, after a series of meetings on the incident have resolved the matter amicably in the spirit of brotherhood and oneness.
A press note by AYO vice president, Kekhrievolie Keyho and general secretary, Rokoketuo Sechu stated that in the admittance of regret over the incident and to fulfil the demands of the organization, made on behalf of the victim, by the representative of the NSCN (U), the matter was declared settled in the presence of both the accused and the victim.
While acknowledging the condemnation and frustrations expressed against the uncalled act, the urge expressed by the people from all walks of life to contain and do away with the menace of nationalism taxes and abusive acts, the organization reiterates its stand to always champion the cause, welfare and interest of all. AYO therefore impress upon all organizations that came forward in extending solidarity to the victim to kindly endorse to settlement made, which was concluded in the best interest of all.
