Lirmen village conducted a one-day awareness program on HIV and AIDS on August 26, organised by Lirmen Teyaritep Society in collaboration with NSACS.
The resource person was MO Mangkolemba, Dr. Imlisenba, who spoke on the basics of HIV and AIDS, importance of blood donation, drug abuse and substance abuse. He encouraged the youth to donate blood in order to save precious lives desperately in need of blood. He also shared about the misconception of blood donation. The programme chaired by president of Lirmen Teyaritep Society, Yarangchang Imchen started with invocation by pastor Lirmen Baptist Church, Rev. A. Mar Pongen. Youth director Narola encouraged the youth to be more vigilant and more informative. A word of encouragement was said by asstt. teacher, R.Bendang Lcr followed by vote of thanks by GB Lirmen Village Council, A. Meren Lcr and benediction by Lirmen Baptist Church associate pastor women Amongla. The society also thanked NSACS department and parliamentary secretary, Dr. Benjongliba Aier for providing financial assistance.
