Pfutsero Town Youth Forum (PTYF) comprising of 11 wards under Pfutsero while expressing anguish over power failure due to breakdown of a transformer has demanded “concrete assurance in written” from the department before June 25.
Pfutsero Town Youth Forum in a press note by general secretary, Viketuo Kromi said a transformer (2.5MVA) broke down and the citizens have been suffering for the last two weeks.
It has questioned the department for its slow execution of restoring the damaged transformer.
PTYF has also demanded that the new transformer with higher capacity (5MVA) should be installed at Pfutsero sub-division perceiving the colossal growth of population and developments.
The Forum said it would not to accept repaired transformer and stated that due to less capacity of transformer (2.5MVA), frequent load shading and power shutdown was predominated.
Pfutsero Town Youth Forum also beseeched the concern authority to retrospect and reflect the undue hardship faced by the public and bring exceptional solution at the earliest to avoid undesirable consequences.
The Forum said and in the event of non-positive response from the department, PTYF would take its “own course of action” for which the department would be solely responsible.
