NSCN (Reformation) MIP has said their “check post” busted few BPL rice bags on July 8 2016 at Mon.
It alleged that “rice, wheat and atta meant for poor public were being lavishly used by few staff and some kingpins unnoticed”.
MIP said the NSCN (R) check post seized 190 waste bags of BPL rice from a truck (NL. 03-A-1467) bound for Jorhat Assam. Reportedly, the wheat rice bags were owned by S.K. Naginimora and S.K. Muknyaksu.
It alleged that the BPL rice was reportedly sold to one Suresh a shopkeeper in Mon after which the empty bags were to be used for “making up”. “These are the practices of selfish staff and few kingpins”, MIP said.
It informed that the truck that was seized would remain under their custody till the issue is resolved.
MIP further said “at least 683 MT of BPL rice, 231 MT BPL wheat and 463 MT of BPL atta monthly sanctioned by the central government through Food & Civil Supplies department had not reached the poor public only because of selfish staff and few kingpins…”
MIP however said that the issue was resolved through the intervention of the Konyak Union.
