Altogether nine persons were arrested by Kohima police on charges of issuing fake appointment order to a candidate for the post of constable in Nagaland police.
In a press release, PRO Kohima police said during the investigation, it was ascertained that a fake appointment order was delivered for an amount of Rs. 2,80,000 by forging the signature of the appointing authority.
According to PRO, the amount was shared amongst some of the members involved in the racket.
Further, police said that several deals were made by them allegedly in connivance with the main accused identified as one Aosenla Chang by charging several lakhs of rupees from gullible and aspiring candidates for appointment to the post of constable in Nagaland police.
During house search/raids carried out at the residences of main accused and other co-accused, police said several job applications along with educational certificates including two fake appointment orders and official seal of S.P (Int) Kohima were recovered.
Police said all the arrested have been charged under various sections of law for committing forgery, bribery and criminal conspiracy. A criminal case has also been registered against them, PRO said.
Police said initially one Medemyanger (35), son of R. Limasungba Ao, presently residing at Diphupar-B, Dimapur was arrested based on the FIR lodged with South PS Kohima on March 23, 2016 by official of special branch (PHQ) Kohima.
Following his arrest, one Noklomeren Imsong (37), son of Sobusashi, also a resident of Diphupar-B, Dimapur and others were arrested, PRO said.
The accused Noklomeren Imsong was thoroughly examined and based on his statements, seven co-accused involved in the racket were also arrested, police said.
Other co-accused who have been arrested were identified as Yimlei Phom (male 30), son of Longpai, resident of Chumukedima; C. Tiakaba (male), son of late Chuba, resident of Chumukedima; Kilamzaile @ Azai (female 28), wife of Michael Zeliang, resident of Chumukedima; Zachano @ Abeni Ngullie (female 35), wife of Yichunthung, resident of Chumukedima; Achila Kapfo (female 46), wife of Aja Kapfo, resident of Chumukedima; Aosenla Chang (female, 32, main accused) wife of Povezo, present address, New Reserve, Kohima and Longpochang Ao (28 male), son of R. Limasungba Ao, present address, Paramedical, Kohima.
