
Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS), Dimapur observed the 157th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore on May 9, at Pranab Jubilee auditorium, in three phases.
A press release issued by PVHSS Dimapur principal, Monoj Bhattacharjee stated that the first phase programme for Lkg to Class-4, started in its own traditional manner such as school prayer, garlanding to the portrait of Guru Maharaj, Rabindranath Tagore and Vijayanandaji Maharaj, floral tribute to founder secretary of PVHSS Dimapur, late Manik Bhattacharjee, and his associates. Students of Lkg to Class-4 performed a special presentation on “Nature and Rabindranath”. Various cultural programmes were also presented by the morning shift students and teachers.
During the second phase for higher secondary section, teachers and students also performed various colourful presentations. While in the third phase for the secondary section, it began with a floral tribute, opening song was presented by the class 10 students, welcome speech was delivered by PVHSS Dimapur vice principal, Ashok Kumar Ray, various cultural programmes like solo dance, group dance, recitation, speech etc were performed.
The students and the teachers delivered speeches on the great personality of past, present and future. Words of blessings was given by secretary PVHSS & in-charge Bharat Sevashram Sangha Dimapur & Karbi Anglong district Assam, Swami Chinmayanandaji Maharaj, while vote of thanks was proposed by Lipshe Bhattacharjee and Abakash Chakraborty. The programme concluded with the singing of national anthem.
