Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Wokha Bhandari block established rubber farm school for Kyong Baptist Ekhumkho Sanrhyutsu (KBES) on November 14, at Mekirang village.
The farm was dedicated by KBES, Vankosung executive secretary Rev. M.C kithan.
At the programme, SDO (Soil) cum BTT convenor Litemo Murry, spoke on farm school concept, role and responsibilities. District soil conservation officer, Wokha Myansao imparted knowledge on packages of practices and management of rubber plantation. He also encouraged them to grow rubber in such areas which were not cultivable to avoid crop productivity problem in near future.
Altogether 27 farmers along with KBES representatives attended the programme. Meanwhile, on November 16, training cum demonstration was conducted at SDO soil office, Bhandari. BTT convenor demonstrated on the collection of soil samples for soil analysis.
After analysis of soil samples, suitable recommendations were given to the farmers in order to get better yield besides maintaining soil fertility. Altogether 19 farmers attended the training.
