‘Childline se dosti’ campaign in Kma

As part of the national Childline Se Dosti campaign, Childline Kohima conducted series of activities from November 14 to 20, which included rally and painting competition.
During the campaign, rally was conducted on November 19 with active participation of students from Oking School, Kohima, students of entrepreneurship development and integrated training institute, Kohima and Childline volunteers and well wishers.
The rally began with an exhortation from Society Director, Integrated Child Protection Society (ICPS), who also flagged off the rally. The rally started at P.R Hill and culminated at the office of deputy commissioner, Kohima where SDO (Sardar) Kohima, K. Sekhose representing along with other officials received the dosti pledge followed by fastening of Suraksha band on their wrists, as a symbolic action of their commitment to Childline and to make the city a safer place for children. Sekhose also exhorted the students and pledged assurance of support to Childline and for the cause of children.
Painting competition was conducted on November 20, with participation of students from Mezhür HSS, student volunteers from Mt. Sinai School, Dainty Buds and Baptist HSS. Painting was held on the themes, “My favourite childhood memory”, “My dream world for children” and “Child abuse/s I am witness to”.  The main judge for the competition was a renowned local artist, Vikhor Tepa. Altogether 25 students participated. Vichol Pusa, Mezhür HSS secured the first position followed by Kevimhietuo Mepfhiio also from Mezhiir HSS and Arieno Kera of Baptist HSS in second and third positions respectively.
Meanwhile,  Childline Kohima appreciated the support and cooperation of the deputy commissioner, Kohima, the Police, ICPS and the concerned school authorities for making the campaign a meaningful and successful one.
