Trg on career guidance & counseling in Kohima

Five-day training on career guidance and counseling for higher secondary school teachers was organized by school of counseling Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), ministry of youth affairs and sports, Government of India, concluded November  20, at Mount Sinai Higher Secondary School (MSHSS) Kohima.
During the training programme, resource persons Dr. Zavise Rume, Rev. Fr. Vemedo, Er. Medozho Zango, Nuozhienino, Rokotono and Rev. Fr. George Rino facilitated the trainees on various topics including introduction to RGNIYD and its programmes, understanding issues related to adolescents, evolution and concept of career, importance of career planning, factors influencing career choice, SWOT analysis, goal setting SMART etc.
The program was coordinated by SCERT associate professor Dr. Zavise Rume.
Altogether 35 teachers from various schools and institutions attended the training programme.
The seminar widened the teacher’s knowledge about guiding the student’s career and helped to develop an insight into the concept and skills of counseling.
School further expressed gratitude to Dr. R. Subasree, faculty RGNIYD for sponsoring the programme and Dr. Zavise Rume for the coordination.
Meanwhile, participants of the training programme urged RGNIYD to organize more of such programs in future.
Later closing remark was delivered by MSHSS, Kohima, principal P.J. Nathan.
