The 2nd audition of Team Metamorphosis Campus Icon was held on Saturday at Mt. Sinai School chapel hall Wokha. Gugs Chishi, Project Director Music Task Force was the chief guest. During his speech to the participants as well as the audience, Gugs appreciated the team for developing and nurturing a vision in which young talents are not only given a platform to exhibit their musical talent but also take the challenge of cultivating positive drive in their studies as well as lives in general. He said “In many cases, talented musicians or singers do not have good academic backgrounds, but one can definitely have a good academic report while becoming a good artist in the field of Music”. He encouraged the young and aspiring participants to take this platform to develop their skills, as Nagas generally have good inherent sense of music which the Govt. is also doing its best to help the talents in the field. He also donated money towards the organisation. Bideno Humtsoe a standard 8 student of DBHSS who was also the Campus Icon of Campus Icon season 2 gave a brief speech appreciating the team and also how participating in Campus Icon helped her in various ways. It is worth mentioning that after winning the title Campus Icon she also secured 1st division in her term end examination for which she was given an Academic Scholarship by Team Metamorphosis for the following academic session. The contestants who made through to the 3rd audition are Thungchobeni R Tsopoe of DBHSS, Aremo T Jami of DBHSS, Randanbeni of DBHSS, Zachano of CMHS, Shanchobeni of Mt. Sinai High School and Akumrenla of LMS. Their status to the next audition was determined by the total number of votes they received and their live performance (50% votes and 50% judges points). Zanbeni Humtsoe was the host of the occasion while Yanpothung Ezung and Mhabemo Humtsoe (both accomplished musicians) were the judges. The 3rd audition will take place on August 7 in which the 6 remaining contestants will be performing Hindi songs. Voting system will also be closed after the next audition and the finalists will be judged absolutely according to their performance in the grand finale. The cash prizes carry a total amount of `32,000 only.
