District agriculture office, Wokha conducted a field day programme under IPM on October 13 at Ekokju village under Wokha district, to educate farmers on the timely management of pests and diseases and to reduce misuse of various chemicals.
During the programme AFA Nzanbemo T. Erui spoke on package and practices of cabbage, while AO Eyingo Tungoe spoke on cultivation of pea and its management. During the interaction session, VDB secretary Lankonthung Ezung shared the hardships faced by the farmers. Chairman Mongathung Ezung thanked the agriculture department, Wokha for taking the initiative of conducting IPM programme in their village. The programme chaired by AO Mhathung Odyuo started with invocation by Lamathung Ezung and vote of thanks was delivered by area in charge AFA Nchumbemo Ezung. Rodenticides and pea seeds were distributed to the 30 farmers.
