Sinai ministry in collaboration with Miqlat ministry would be organizing four-day ‘Rock Revival’ from July 30 at Dimapur mainly targeted at alcoholics, drug addicts, sex workers etc.
Interacting with media persons at Sinai Cafe on Wednesday, director, Sinai Café, Wabang Longchari said the ‘Rock Revival’ would be one of its kind, with an aim to spread the message of love and support to sex workers, youth who are lonely, depressed, frustrated, addicted to alcohol, drugs.
He said it has been his dream to organize a concert reaching out to the “un-church” in need of love, support and guidance.
Also speaking to the media, one of the members of Miqlat ministry said their ministry works with sex workers stretching from Assam to Chumukedima.
Most of the sex workers are addicted to alcohol, drugs and abused mentally and emotionally, she said and opined that through this ‘Rock Revival’, the organizers are trying to take the “Church to the un-church”.
She also expressed gladness of having visited railway area (one of the venues for the revival) and hoped the people from Burma camp area, railway line area, Eros lane area can get together to listen to the word of God and hear good music.
Also disclosing that brothels are mushrooming in new market area, she felt there was a pressing need to spread the gospel to those in need.
She further anticipated that through this ‘Rock Revival’, people would experience radical transformation in their life.
Band members of UDX formerly known as Dementia said they do not want to be tagged as Christian band for the reason that it limits their reach, and divulged their aim is to reach out to the “un-reached”.
Disclosing they have been preparing songs especially for the revival, the band members said they were excited to perform at the revival as it would be their first performance since renaming the band.
It may be mentioned that UDX and Frozen Heart would be performing at the revival, while Rev. David Jamir famously known as Rev. Rock star and Alemla Apong would be the speakers.
The revival is scheduled to start on July 30 at Notun Basti, July 31 at Railway bazaar (West yard) and August 1-2 at Urban Haat.
