Changki Senso Mongdang (CSM) has resolved to “remove all restrictions” on the Emremchangki clan, thereby “allowing its members to free occupation, trade etc., within the village authority and its jurisdiction”, chairman Village Council Changki (VCC), Lendimenba Amri and secretary Imodangba Pongen informed in a press note. “Except the right to claim citizenship until such time they pay their citizen membership subscription fee in their customary clan name Emremchangki, all restrictions have been removed,” VCC stated.
The decision was made during the CSM meeting held on May 30. “CSM had resolved to make these considerations humbly with the hope to create a conducive atmosphere so as to enable the deviant members to seek mutual conformity with the village authority at the earliest and that, the Changki people could all live once again in peace and harmony as desired by all right thinking members,” VCC said.
