Ever since the scandal of bogus teachers in Nagaland emerged, schools in Pessao village under Mon district have been facing acute shortage of teachers.
Chairman of Pessao Villahe Council, S.P. Chemang Konyak in a press release stated that there are only three teachers struggling to manage one school, while in another school, only two teachers are manning the school.
Pessao village, known to be one of the largest villages with a large students’ enrollment under DIS Tobu, PVC chairman said the village was in need of more teachers to shape the future of students.
He however stated that many newly appointed teachers do not wish to teach in the village given the fact that Pessao village is geographically located in the corner of Nagaland, bordering with Myanmar.
Appealing on behalf of PVC and village education committee, S.P Chemang Konyak asked the authority to understand the situation of the area and urgently work for the welfare of the aggrieved students. He also pointed out that despite repeated appeals to the higher authority; no action has been done so far and asked the authority to provide qualified teachers and accommodate schools where enrollment of students are mounting.
