When contacted, Kyong Hoho chairman, Yansanthung Jami told Nagaland Post over phone that the meeting has been scheduled to be held either at Bhandari or CRPF Camp Merapani. Meanwhile, with regard to August 14 incident and to avoid clashes, the indefinite bandh along Wokha-Merapnai road called by Kyong Hoho and other frontal organizations entered third day.

Kyong Hoho said the “peaceful bandh” was called in order to avoid further clashes. For this, Hoho has warned individuals/organizations not to take advantage of the bandh. It stated that any such case detected those individuals/organizations involved would be solely held responsible, Kyong Hoho added.
In another press statement, Merapani Students’ Union (MSU) has strongly condemned against the killing of one Habib Ali in Lotha area by Soru Bhai Ali who was allegedly “responsible for the murder creating tension and havoc” at Maratchu (Merapani), Nagaland. MSU president Renjamo Kikon has demanded immediate action and to book the culprit at the earliest as per the law of land.

Further, the union has appealed to both the government of Assam and Nagaland to seek early solution and restore normalcy in the area in order to bring peace and tranquility in the DAB. MSU also urged upon the Muslims of Merapani not to inculpate the Lothas by false propaganda without ascertaining proper information.
