State department of road and bridges has informed that vehicles plying along NH-29 (Dimapur-Kohima) can use alternative routes as normal movement of vehicles has been affected along NH-29 due to occurrence of landslides at several locations.
PWD (R&B) chief engineer said heavy vehicles can travel along Khopanalla-Mhainamtsu-Ghaspani road whilst light vehicles can travel along Niuland-Zhadima road (NH-2 junction at 10th Mile).
He said minister for R&B G. Kaito Aye, who along with department officers visited Khopanalla-Mhainamtsu-Ghaspani road and Ghaspani-Heningkonglwa-Ruzaphema-Old Peren road August 17 to assess the road conditions, found the roads to be through without any blockage by landslides. Meanwhile, the DC Kohima Bei-u Angami has notified that clearance works along NH-29 would henceforth be stopped between 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. at lower bypass area, Kohima.
